the "shack" is symbolic for the queit sacred place found deep within the forest of our own being...a place where all outside influences are cut off as we come face to face with our creator...if anyone has picked up this book, they are being invited into the shack within, where Jesus lives...God is all around us, speaking to us all the time, but we fail to see Him and to understand Him...this book, a great symbolic message, a reminder but the truth can only be found within ...most never go there just from a simple invite, they have to be pushed there through pain and trial, when all physical comfort ceases, when there is nothing left, then we find ourselves at the entrance of our own little shacks...this book just recently made its way into my world and spoke to me in many ways...we all "NEED" a personal relationship with Lord Jesus...He then fills us with Himself, transforming us...the human race are at a great time of change...these changes will be very hard, we have many walls and resist God ...now is the time to seek after Jesus like never before...this physical world, it is not my true home..just a place I have been brought to so that I could share the light of God with others...our roots should not be planted in this world, but of the Fathers Kingdom...
When I read that part I could totally identify with Mack. I don't know that I would have been able to go to the shack if I was in his position. But I know I would have reacted the same way to being stood up by Papa.
