Why The Shack?

Why do you think Mack's encounter with God took place at the shack? If God were to invite you somewhere, where would it be? (In other words, where is the center of your doubt and pain)?

Force My Will On You

"To force my will on you," Jesus replied, "is exactly what love does not do. Genuine relationships are marked by submission even when your choices are not helpful or healthy."

Well, I'm here, God. And you?

"So where are you? I thought you wanted to meet me here. Well, I'm here, God. And you? You're nowhere to be found! You've never been around when I've needed you-not when I was a little boy, not when I lost Missy. Not now! Some 'Papa' you are!"

Recommended by a friend

I was speaking with my buddy, Jim, about the difficulty I experience when I ask Holy Spirit for guidance. Lately, I've been great at asking for direction throughout the day. But receiving the guidance has not been easy. He suggested the book and said I'd probably like it. He only told me it was about a man who had a resentment against God. And he said it was a little similar to Conversations With God. Once I started it, it only took me three nights to read the book. I couldn't put it down once Mack met Papa at the shack.
