While attending a group discussion on avoiding holiday stress with two of my three sisters, this book became a part of the discussion. The lecturer, Marty, told us that he never quite knows how the discussion will go or what topic will prevail. Well. this book , THE SHACK sparked discussion. He told us how this man, upon entering this darkness when his youngest daughter was murdered, meets the trinity at a place called the shack. Which also happens to be where his daughter ended her young life. A letter was sent to him and signed PAPA, his wife's pet name for GOD. Well, this was enough to get myself and sisters interested in finding this book. Happenstance was had when sister found a copy of the book at the back of her church , anyone may read it, just needs to be returned. This is how the book found us.
I have faith in knowing this book finds you when you need to reaffirm yourself with God and his love for mankind. This past year not only tried my family with the recession, but I had to leave my job due to a spinal injury, my husband was diagnosed with Hodgskin's Lymphoma, and my sister ( who spotted the book) was diagnosed with endometrial cancer....phew... it was a difficult year, but through family, faith and prayer we all prevailed. So... I have to say, THE SHACK finds you , just when you need it.
